Red Bull has announced a new invite-only eSports tournament for Hearthstone called the Return of Team Brawl: Hearthstone which begins on November 18th, 2016 and lasts for two days. Since this is an invite-only event, fans of the teams or the game can tune in and watch as the matches take place over on Twitch.
Update: November 18th, 2016 16:22pm PST: Just a quick reminder that if you are planning to watch this tournament live on Twitch that it will begin tomorrow and will be streamed starting at 12pm PST until it ends.
You will be able to watch as each team builds their decks, and then go on to compete against other teams in the hopes of winning the grand prize and title of Team Brawl Champion. However, instead of following the typical 1vs1 match style, this tournament features 3v3 team gameplay. So while one member plays a round, the others are able to talk to him via a mic. Once that round is over, another team member from each team will take their decks and go at it, in a sort of round robin format. Each team will be presented with one 240-card pool with which to construct three 30-card decks, meaning one deck per team member.
Here is how the tournament will play out:
● Teams blind pick one of their 3 decks for combat against the opposing team
● Once a deck wins a game, it cannot be used again
● First team to win with each of their three decks wins the match
Plenty of professional teams have been invited to participate including Tempo Storm, Team Liquid, Team Kibler, and Cloud9. While the tournament begins on November 18th, 2016 and ends November 19th, anyone wanting to watch the tournament can tune in to the Red Bull Twitch channel on November 19th to watch the entire event. We will, of course, be covering the tournament.
