The first-ever Vainglory World Championships happened this weekend where the top 12 teams from around the world took to the stage to battle it out for top honors. The entire event was streamed live on Twitch of course, and after all was said and done, Phoenix Armada from Korea came out on top, being the first world champions for Vainglory.
The finals was played between Korea’s Phoenix Armada and North America’s Team SoloMid, which had Phoenix Armada coming out on top in a best of seven with a 4-2 series win. The event took place at the TCL Chinese Theatre in Hollywood, and the theatre will honor the winners with an imprint display which will show up at some point in the beginning of 2017. Oh, and they also take home a lot of cash too, with the overall prize pool being $120,000.
