Released by, Caveboy Go is a new game on Android where players assume the role of the eponymous Caveboy, who sets out to find his friends that are apparently lost within a labyrinth. The game is set with the labyrinth, and players are looking to progress from one room to the next. This is accomplished by finding patterns in the floor.
Caveboy looks for at least three floor tiles to match, and will then follow the pattern that players trace on said tiles. The idea being that Caveboy uses this to traverse from the bottom of the screen (at one end of the room) to the top of the screen (at the opposite end). This must be accomplished within the time limit. To further complicate things, Caveboy can be moved in the “wrong” direction, forcing players to eat up precious seconds back tracking, until the proper patch can be found.

Players will have access to items that can help. Take Magic Elixers as an example. When players use one, the correct path is highlighted Players are also awarded more time, as they complete a room, though the timer will continue to tick down. In the end, the idea for players is to see how many rooms they can accomplish before time runs out. Lastly, there are more than two dozen characters that can be unlocked within the game, and each has a different passive ability. Caveboy’s, for example, adds a few extra seconds to the clock, at the start of the game.
Caveboy Go is currently available from Google Play, though the game is still in a Beta state. The game is freemium, therefor expect both ads as well as IAPs; regarding the former, the only one I saw was an optional video to increase my reward.
