[CES 2017] Qualcomm releases Spec sheet for their newest Flagship, the Snapdragon 835

At CES 2017, Qualcomm has officially unveiled their newest and most powerful chipset, the Snapdragon 835, along with the technical specifications regarding the powerful processor.

Being manufactured on a 10-nanometer process, the new Kryo 280 CPU is able to reduce battery drain, by 25%, and features a graphical performance increase of around 25% due to the new Adreno 540 GPU. The chipset is capable of rendering 60 times more color than its predecessor, the Snapdragon 821 – capable of delivering object and scene-based 3-D audio, and motion tracking that includes six degrees of freedom (similar to the Occulus rift); Vulkan support is present, as is support for Direct X12 and UFS 2.1 for faster storage speeds.

Camera improvements are present in their new Spectra 180 ISP, ensuring compatibility with camera modules up to 32mp or dual 16mp modules, with promises of even faster Auto-focus and better quality HDR photos.

Quick charge 4.0 has been introduced, which is faster than Quick charge 3.0 by 20%, and the chipset is also compatible with a faster LTE module, the Snapdragon X16 LTE modem, which is capable of download speeds in 1gbps based on Gigabit LTE …faster than what most home Wifi Setups are capable of. Oh and there was mention of Bluetooth 5.0, which is theoretically capable of reaching ranges 4 times the range of Bluetooth 4.2, and also able to broadcast 8 times the data rate over the previous version.

For those of you interested in the complete list of specifications, you can find them on the official Qualcomm website.
I, for one, am excited to see what powerful gaming devices are introduced in 2017 based on these chipsets. Are you?
