The best new games to play on Android this week

Telltale's Guardians of the Galaxy

This week had a quiet start but absolutely exploded on Thursday and Friday with a selection of awesome releases. We hope you’ve got space left on your Android device because you’re going to need it.

Discovery isn’t the best in Google Play though. A few games that are thoroughly worth playing tend to slip under the radar. That’s what we’re here for though, to make sure that doesn’t happen.

So celebrate the start of the weekend by downloading the selection of gems below:

Telltale’s Guardians of the Galaxy

Telltale’s Guardians of the Galaxy is easily the highest profile game to hit Android this week. It’s based on the massive Marvel franchise and tells a completely new story featuring the entire cast.

As this is a Telltale product, you can safely expect a bunch of action, laughs, and twists over the course of the series. Go and grab it right now from Google Play.

Real Boxing Manny Pacquiao

We didn’t see this coming, so chances are neither did you. This is the latest iteration in the gorgeous Real Boxing franchise, and stars Manny Pacquiao himself.

You can either play as him, or wear his trademark gear as your own boxer. Aside from that, this is Real Boxing as you know and love it, with a variety of modes to keep you busy. Grab it right now from Google Play.

CATS: Crash Arena Turbo Stars

Excellent name for an excellent game. CATS is basically Robot Wars but in Zeptolab’s vision. That’s the team behind the excellent Cut the Rope franchise so expect a ton of colour and zest.

You build your own robot from scratch – and really, the sky’s the limit here – then watch it battle other robots. Don’t feel sad that you can’t take direct control of your cat robot though, as you’ll really just want to sit back and watch the battle unfold.

Go ahead and grab it right now from Google Play.

 Card Thief

Card Thief hasn’t launched yet, but it will tomorrow and believe me you want to play this. It’s the sequel to Card Crawl, a dungeon-crawling take on Solitaire, but this time it’s focused on stealth mechanics.

You’ll move your way around a deck of cards, snuffing out lights, stealing stuff, and pickpocketing. You know, typical thief stuff.

It took a while to land on Android, but better late than never. It also may well be available on Google Play when you read this, so head on over there.
