5 Android stories you should have read this week

Monument Valley 2

This was a very special week for Android gamers. Two of the biggest developers and publishers practically gave away their best games, and mobile’s system seller got a sequel.

We don’t want to spoil all of the surprises for you though. So read on for the top five stories that you really should have read this week.

Monument Valley 2 launched out of nowhere on iOS

Monument Valley 2 has been rumoured for a while, but this week it finally happened. No one suspected it either. Apple just announced it while showing off the redesigned App Store Fallout Shelter-style.

Reviews have been very positive as well, with ustwo providing another excellent entry in mobile’s darling franchise. We also reckon it might come to Android in July as well, so keep a close eye on Droid Gamers.

Dear Leader, a twin stick shooter featuring Kim Jong-un, got announced

At this point, I think it’s safe to say that anything can get turned into a mobile game. For example, this week we stumbled upon an upcoming twin stick shooter featuring North Korea’s infamous dictator, Kim Jong-un.

You play as the leader himself, and have to defend the country from a demon invasion. It’s absolutely bonkers.

Crescent Moon held a second Humble Bundle

Crescent Moon was back at it again this week with an excellent new Humble Mobile Bundle. It featured a selection of its best games at ridiculously low prices, and you can get the lot for about $5.

It even included three Android debuts: The Deep Paths2-bit Cowboy Rides Again, and Maze Lord. Definitely a bundle worth grabbing.

We got a first look at Galaxy of Pen & Paper

We finally got a first glance of the sci-fi follow up to Knights of Pen & Paper this week, and boy does it look like a lot of fun.

Galaxy of Pen & Paper once again puts you in the game master’s chair, and tasks you with sending a group of adventurers on a galactic quest.

Battlevoid is coming to Android in Sector Siege

A brand new Battlevoid is on its way to Android, and it looks like an awful lot of fun. You have to defend what’s left of humanity from an aggressive alien species. Humanity has just colonised space, you see.

If you love the franchise, you’ll be right at home here. It’s everything you love about it, just on your mobile.
