This week saw a number of exciting Android releases that took us by surprise. That doesn’t just include games you can play right now though, we also had exciting upcoming games soft launch.

There was a few sales as well, which allowed you to grab a bunch of Android classics for around a dollar each. Bargain!

But before we spoil all the surprises for you, read on to discover the top five Android stories you really should have read this week.

Top story on Android this week: Fate/Grand Order launched on Google Play

It seems you lot aren’t sick of card battlers just yet. When the news broke that Fate/Grand Order launched, you guys went crazy for it.

For those not in the know, Fate/Grand Order is a card battling RPG with gorgeous anime-inspired artwork. You’ll create a deck of cards then take them into battle against your enemies, paying close attention to the order you play them in.

That dictates the attacks and special abilities you can use, so there’s a surprising amount of depth here. Go and grab it from Google Play.

Futurama: Worlds of Tomorrow arrived

We’ve been talking about Futurama: Worlds of Tomorrow for what felt like an age, but this week it finally launched. If you’ve played a TinyCo game before, you know exactly what to expect here. It’s a city building sim that lets you create your own New New York.

The 16bit inspired combat is all new though. You’ll create a team of your favourite characters, set off an a galactic adventure, and shoot enemies into smithereens. Sound good? Grab it on Google Play then.

Assassin’s Creed: Rebellion was announced and soft launched

Assassin’s Creed: Rebellion was announced out of nowhere this week, and even soft launched on Android. It’s a mobile exclusive tie in to the console franchise that has you build your very own brotherhood.

You’ll build a tower, stock it full of assassins, and send them out on missions to earn resources. Those resources can then be used to craft new equipment and upgrade your team. Grab it from Google Play in select territories.

Google Play held an epic summer sale

Google Play held yet another epic summer sale this week, which featured some of the best Android gaming currently available.

Nintendo confirmed that Animal Crossing will still launch this year

Now this was some good news. Nintendo confirmed this week that Animal Crossing will still launch on mobile this year, and what’s more, we’ll see it very soon.
