7 new Android games you have to play this week

The first week back at work after Christmas is always a bit slow, and that also applies to Android game releases. This is far from a stellar line up, but there are a few hidden gems in there.

But before we get into that, pop the kettle on, put your feet up, and relax into the weekend. Then, download a few of these to keep you busy until Monday.

The best new Android game: Antihero – get it

Antihero is a digital board game in which you build your own mighty thieve’s guild. It originally launched on Steam, but is now available on Android and is our choice of best game out this week.

Onmyoji – get it

Onmyoji is a gorgeous turn based battler that was only available in south east Asia until now. This week saw the English release of this interesting gacha fighter.

Peace, Death! – get it

Peace, Death! is for those of you with a sense of humour. You play as the new grim reaper who Death hires to help him decide whether the newly dead go to heaven or hell. Impress him and you might just last longer than your initial six month contract.

Shurado – get it

Shurado appears to take influence from the likes of Dark SoulsInfinity Blade, and Tekken. It’s a fighter with truly breathtaking visuals. You’ll battle enemies by tapping and unlock new weapons.

Planetarium 2 – get it

If you’ve had a really rough week, Planetarium 2 is the one for you. It’s not so much a game as a space simulation, in which you can play with the solar system to learn more about it.

Crush Escape – get it

Crush Escape is a tough puzzler in which you have to push a variety of geometric shapes to the goal. Meanwhile, a bunch of obstacles will try and stop you.

Skullgirls – get it

So it turns out that Skullgirls didn’t launch for the first time on Android this week. In fact, it was a rerelease, but we’re still including it because it’s a truly brilliant mobile fighter. So there.
