Tencent, the enormous developer behind PUBG Mobile, is working on a brand new zombie survival game, coming to Android.
It looks absolutely gorgeous too, as it’s powered by Unreal Engine 4. It totally puts LifeAfter to shame, which is impressive.
The gameplay trailer, just released, shows a male wandering around a post apocalyptic environment.
Codename SOC is like a cross between LifeAfter and Days Gone
It looks a lot like Days Gone, as the character rides a motorcycle around the world. It also features nice lighting effects, with a torch necessary to light your way in the dark.
In terms of gameplay, it looks like building a fort and manning it with other survivors (presumably real players) is the name of the game.
You can see fencing – which zombies can climb over – electric traps, and explosive barrels.
While we assume it’s played in third person, there was a segment in which the character looked down the barrel of the gun to fine-tune a shot.
Right at the end, a helicopter flies over to rescue the character. That could suggest that vehicles play a big part in the experience too.
While the trailer appears to show in-game graphics, it’s very cinematic. It’s not really clear how much of it will translate to actual gameplay.
