Square Enix Teases Tomb Raider Reloaded on Mobile

Square Enix has taken to Twitter to tease Tomb Raider Reloaded, the first outing for Lara Croft since Shadow of the Tomb Raider on PC and consoles.

The trailer is light on detail, forcing us to burrow into the fertile soil of speculation. While there’s no gameplay, the graphics are notably cartoonish. The gameworld is fantastical, too, with giant beetles, rock monsters, dinosaurs, and an angry wolf all in the mix.

Naturally, the trailer showcases these entities in a crumbling stone temple. Some things never change.

Tomb Raider Reloaded is being developed by Emerald City Games, whose previous Android credits include Lionheart: Dark Moon, a colorful turn-based RPG.

Don’t worry. Square Enix has described Tomb Raider Reloaded as a “free to play action arcade game”, so we’ll tentatively speculate that it’ll be a bit like the excellent Guardian of Light and Temple of Osiris, both of which blended action and light puzzling in an accessible, arcadey way.

We’ll find out soon enough.
