Punch-Out!!-esque Boxing Sim Prizefighters 2 Coming to Android on December 17th

Prizefighters 2, the sequel to the highly acclaimed Prizefighters, is coming to Android in a couple of weeks, with a scheduled launch date of December the 17th.

Though it looks an awful lot like NES-era classic Punch-Out!!, Prizefighters 2 is a more complex and nuanced beast, offering a surprizingly authentic take on the noble art of punching somebody hard in the face and torso.

The gameplay will see you creating a custom boxer before setting out on a career in the ring. This will involve not only fighting but training between fights, assigning attribute points to various different categories of your boxer’s profile.

Your weight will be affected by training, and you’ll need to avoind burning yourself out in the gym so that you’ve got some energy left for your matches.

In the ring, meanwhile, Prizefighters 2 develops the gameplay of its predecessor with a wider array of onscreen buttons for punching and dodging. Physical controllers are also supported.

It looks swell. You’ll be able to get your hands on Prizefighters 2 in a couple of weeks. In the meantime, you can pre-register right now on the Google Play Store.
