Pumpkinbutt’s Halloween Dream is a slick one-finger platformer with a spooky feel that sees you bouncing your way up a series of towers. It’s slick, it’s entertaining and it’s about to get a bunch of festive-themed levels. That’s pretty good timing, we think you’ll agree.
The game sees you playing at the titular Pumpkinbutt, a pumpkin farmer who, after an explosion and a coating in some ectoplasmic goo, finds himself stuck in a gloomy world. To escape you need to climb up a bunch of levels. You tap to leap, picking the perfect time to spring up to the next floor.
Getting to the end of the level isn’t the only task here. There are glowing skulls to collect, and grabbing all of them offers up a pretty stiff test. Sure, you might control everything with a single finger, but that doesn’t mean there isn’t a decent challenge here.
There are loads of obstacles in your way, from spikes and pits to ghouls that will chase you. This is a game all about timing, planning ahead and making sure your reaction times are up to scratch. And the latest update is going to add to that – not just with the new Christmas levels.
The update will also feature improved level progression and a brand new Super Spire challenge. It’s also going to tweak the regularity of the interstitial ads, giving you more time to leap around with a big silly grin on your face.
There’s a single IAP in the game, and that gets rids of the interstitial and after death ads. If you’re looking for some spooky fun to while away the long nights this holiday season, then we reckon you should definitely pick it up.
