The Genshin Impact 1.2 update is here, right on time. Dubbed “The Chalk Prince and the Dragon”, the update adds new quests and a whole new area to explore.
This area is called Dragon spine, and it’s a mountainous region blanketed in snow. You’ll find it just south of Mondstadt. Dragonspine contains new puzzles, quests, and a menagerie of new creatires to discover, along with some artifacts from a lost civilisation.
Because Dragonspine is a chilly spot, you’ll have a Sheer Cold bar to watch while you’re there – a bit like the one in Breath of the Wild. While you’re in Dragonspine you’ll need to take measures to ensure this bar doesn’t drop to zero.
The Chalk and the Dragon, in case you’ve been wondering, is a seasonal event that sees you joining fores with Chief Alchemist Albedo to investigate a magical sword called Festering Desire. Once you’ve completed the event, the sword is yours, along with various other items.
There are two new 5-star characters in the latest update, too. Albedo is one of them, and the other is a human/adaptus hybrid called Cyro.
