Developer Bedtime Digital Games has announced that Figment, its acclaimed action-adventure game set in the human mind, is coming to Android this Thursday.
Originally released on PC before making the jump to iOS last year, Figment sees you exploring a gorgeous isometric rendering of somebody’s imagination. You’ll need to battle nightmares and solve puzzles, handily covering the “action” and “adventure” bases outlined above.
Figment’s influences include Bastion, Psychonauts, and the movie Inside Out. We assume. It features gameplay details based on real brain processes, such as the collectible orbs that represent endorphins, and waves of despair that you have to dodge. Its puzzles and overall campaign deal with mental health issues.
If that makes Figment sound worthy and tedious, it isn’t. Bedtime Digital uses humor, charm, and a beautiful Amanita Design-esque aesthetic to make Figment a fun and accessible, puzzle-heavy journey through an entertainingly troubled mind.
You’ll be able to play it on Android later this week.
