Square Enix Unveils Hitman Sniper Follow-up Hitman Sniper Assassins, Coming to Mobile Soon

Square Enix has just used its latest Square Enx Presents event to announce several mobile projects, including a follow-up to Hitman Sniper called Hitman Sniper Assassins.

In case you’ve never played it, Hitman Sniper is a clever gallery shooter that sees you peering at a scene through a rifle scope and picking off jerks who certainly deserve to die.

It’s better than it sounds, with an almost puzzler-like dynamic as you plot the order of your killings and search for props and other tricks to conceal your murderous rampage.

Hitman Sniper Assassins is being developed by Square Enix Montreal, who also brought us the marvellous Hitman GO. Its action takes place at various spots around the world, which is a welcome advance from Hitman Sniper’s single location, and it sees you assembling a team of snipers, all with their own weapons and personalities. There’s PvP, too.

True to the series’ ethos, Hitman Sniper Assassins appears to give players the freedom to decide how they want to go about their grisly work. It’s a solid bet, though we’d like to know what the difference between a “sniper” and an “assassin” is.

We don’t know when Hitman Sniper Assassins will be out, but there’s a product page up right now on the Google Play Store. It’s labelled “early access”, so you may be able to download it, depending on where you live.
