Hitman Sniper was a pretty awesome game of long-range murder that managed to capture the complexity and silliness of the Hitman games while working pretty darn brilliantly on mobile. So we got pretty excited when a sort-of-sequel was announced.
And now we’re even more excited because that sort-of-sequel has a name – Hitman Sniper: The Shadows. And it’s also got a trailer. Today is a good day if you like elaborately killing people from a long way away.
As you can probably tell from the trailer, there’s no Agent 47 here. He’s disappeared to parts unknown, and a new squad of assassins has stepped up to take down an international criminal conspiracy. By dropping chandeliers on them.
Apparently the new characters are going to have their own unique personalities and backstories, as well as special skills that will come in handy on different missions. Those missions are going to take place all over the world, so hopefully there’ll be more to do here than in the original Hitman Sniper.
Really, this is just slapstick comedy with a squelchier ending. And we’re all for that. The game is set to launch on the Play Store later this year, where it’ll be a free to play game with some of those IAPs.
