Pokemon Unite is a new kind of Pokemon scrapper that sees you building up teams of 5 Pokemon and taking them into battles against an opposing team. And it’s coming to Android in a couple of months.
The game is launching on Switch in July, with the mobile release following later in September. There’ll be cross-play and cross-save compatibility, so you can pick up the same game on your phone that you just put down on your Switch.
The game is set on a mysterious island called Aeos Island and sees you joing the UBC – the Unite Battle Committee. Battles see you trying to collect as many points as possible before time runs out, with the player with the most points being crowned the winner.
You earn those points by defeating wild and trainer-controlled Pokemon, collecting the Aeos energy they drop and then depositing it in a goal. There are a bunch of different stadiums to fight in, and the rules of the game change depending where you are.
The whole thing feels a bit like a Pokemon-filled lite-MOBA, and that sounds pretty darn sweet if you ask us. You can find out more about the game at its official website here.
