Final Fantasy VII: The First Soldier Bringing in a Raft of Tweaks and Bug Fixes

Final Fantasy VII: The First Soldier launched last month, and it’s fair to say it’s had its share of trials and tribulations over the last four weeks. But Square Enix has revealed a raft of new bug fixes and tweaks that are going to land in the coming weeks.

In a pretty lengthy blog post, the game’s producer Shoichi Ichikawa listed what’s going to change. If you’d like to read the whole thing, you can do that by clicking right here. We’ll just be explaining a few of the bigger changes.

Those big things? There’s work going on to fix crashing and controller issues that have plagued the game, as well as an update to 60fps on supported devices. There are also tweaks to character movement.

There are also plans for a questionnaire to gain feedback from players on the changes and what else might be needed, as well as a whole bunch of balancing changes.

Modern games are often subject to a whole bunch of tweaks and balances before they get things right, so it’s good to see that Square Enix is at least attempting to right some of the problems The First Soldier has been having.

A lot of the balancing above is set to kick in on December 17th. If you haven’t given the game a go yet, you can click here to download it from the Play Store. It’s free with IAP.
