There’s a new Angry Birds game out on the Play Store. It’s called Angry Birds Journey, and if you’re the sort of person that still likes to play Angry Birds games, you’re probably going to love it. If you’re not, well, that’s okay.
The game features the usual pull-and-release slingshot gameplay that we’ve come to expect. It’s faster paced this time round, though, with a focus on smashing certain things instead of smashing everything.
There’s still a roster of different birds with different skills, but you have to use what you’re given instead of switching between your stack. You’ve got special powers as well. Here’s a trailer.
There’s an inevitable stamina system that does get in the way once you’ve run out of the full day of free stamina that game gives you at the start, and there’s nothing here you haven’t seen before.
But that’s not what the game is trying to do. It’s a saccharine blast of mobile gaming nonsense, and if that’s what you’re after it’s going to tick all of the right boxes.
