Hotta Studio’s Tower of Fantasy has a huge cheating problem. After launch, players everywhere noticed large numbers of Tower of Fantasy cheaters populating the game’s leaderboards.
Following the complaints, Hotta initiated the first ban wave, targeting hackers in the game. However, that ban has proved ineffective as cheaters still run rampant throughout the game world.
Yes, there’s still Tower of Fantasy cheaters
It looks like Tower of Fantasy’s first ban wave has failed. While some cheaters in Hotta’s Genshin-like have been taken out, the nefarious group is still an issue in the MMO gacha game.
In the initial ban wave, Hotta banned any players who had a modified version of the game’s exe file on PC. This did have the effect of banning some cheaters, but also players who hadn’t cheated in the game.
However, Hotta failed to ban players who are the most obvious cheaters in the game. At the time of writing, thousands of Tower of Fantasy cheaters are boasting impossible stats. With a current level cap for all players, these hackers easily stand out.
As pointed out on Reddit, hackers are still flooding chats, boasting they’re 7.5 level Suppressors. (Yes, that’s impossible for normal players to get.) The cheater in question even managed to get to Floor 500 in the Bygone Phantom Tower.
The ongoing wave of Tower of Fantasy cheaters is tiring out some of the game’s most hardcore fans. On the game’s subreddit, complains about rampant cheating are frequent, and players are infuriated.
On the subreddit, players claim servers suffer heavily from cheaters. One player said: “I hate these cockroaches, they plague the Solaris server.”
Furthermore, as players point out, only individual server access is banned during this wave. This means that the only thing a cheater loses is access to one server and their character. They can continue to cheat with a new character.
