Perfect Fallout 1 and 2 Android ports released in time for 25th anniversary

The classic Fallout games are some of the best CRPG games available. Just in time for the 25th anniversary of the series, perfect Fallout 1 and 2 Android ports have been released by one brilliant fan.

The best Fallout 1 and 2 Android ports

Released on the Google Play Store, a new launcher for the classic Fallout games is now available. Called fo2.exe, the launcher is capable of launching GOG versions of both Fallout 1 and 2 on Android phones.

A Fallout 2 port was recently released on mobile earlier this year. However, this version of the game has much better controls. For example, there’s now a button to switch cursor types instead of having to spend minutes tapping the screen.

Furthermore, fo2.exe works brilliantly across a number of devices. Even on a huge Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra, the new port launches the game flawlessly with perfect screen sizes. It’s honestly beautiful.

While the Google Play Store listing claims that it only supports the games’ GOG versions, fans claim that the Steam games also work fine. However, you will need a legal copy of the game to play on your phone.

With official Fallout 1 and 2 android ports seemingly not coming from Bethesda, this is the best we’re going to get. Do we mind? Hell no, these are perfect versions of some of gaming’s best releases.

At the time of writing, there’s no mod support. However, just getting to play these games on mobile in an enjoyable way is enough for us.

Fallout Tactics is coming

In a Reddit thread, the port’s developer dev360deg explained that there are plans for even more translation projects in the future. After the release of these two ports, the developer is moving onto the next game in the series: Fallout Tactics.

If that port is up to the same level of quality as this one, we’re very excited for this dev’s future projects. We can’t help but wonder: what comes afterwards?
