Avenged Sevenfold releases an RPG onto Android called Hail to the King: Deathbat

One of the major players in the hard rock music scene, and have been for awhile now, Avenged Sevenfold have decided to release an action RPG onto mobile. This interesting game is called Hail to the King: Deathbat and surprisingly looks quite good visually. Usually when this sort of thing happens, it is more of a 2D experience but not with this game.

Visually you will be enjoying some 3D graphics while you dive into this action RPG genre. This game is a 3rd person, overhead dungeon crawler action RPG that takes inspiration from the Legend of Zelda series, Gauntlet Legends and Diablo franchises (apparently Avenged Sevenfold membes are also gamers). The really cool aspect of the game is that it is based around their logo, the Deathbat. It is almost a backstory for their mascot.

Hail to the King: Deathbat Features:

– Game tells the fictional origin story of the Deathbat
– Play through levels inspired by Avenged Sevenfold’s catalog
– Play as members of the band (available as in-app purchases)
– Features an original score, written by Avenged Sevenfold for the game
– No must-purchase upgrades; Price of game includes everything necessary to beat game
– 7 new paintings by artist Cam Rackam
– 14 pieces of never-before seen artwork intended for use in earlier albums
– Jimmy ”The Rev” Sullivan plays an integral part in the storyline and can be unlocked
– Rich, immersive storyline that will appeal to gamers and fans of the band alike
– Interact with non-playable characters to learn about and solve the mysteries of the island
– Unlock new weapons and magical abilities to defeat enemy hoards and difficult bosses
– 10-12 hours of gameplay
– Additional “Nightmare Mode” for those who are able to beat the regular game (adds an additional 10-12 hours of gameplay)

This game isn’t really for the casual RPG gamer. The levels are massive, battles with rather challenging bosses, and plenty of undead to kill. If you have ever played World of Warcraft: Frozen Throne, you will notice some influences from the main raid dungeon in this as well… or at least it looks like it. Slime and ooze, undead monsters, dungeons that look creepy. It’s actually pretty awesome and we commend Avenged Sevenfold for going this route with their development team.

The epic story follows Andronikos, the resurrected King of the Underworld and the embodiment of the Deathbat, who is tasked with reclaiming the lands of Haides from the despotic Dark Andronikos. Along the way you’ll mix and match brutal melee combat with projectile magic attacks battling through beautifully designed and hellish landscapes inspired by the band’s iconic discography and artwork. Interact with characters along the way to solve puzzles and unlock the mysteries of Moros Island.

For those of you interested, Hail to the King: Deathbat is a full premium game and will set you back $4.99 if you want to snag a copy of it, which you should do if you like RPGs. We are going to contact Avenged Sevenfold for an interview about this game but they are obviously a busy group of people so we may not be able to pull that off. You never know though, they did release an RPG after all.
