Fold the World: A brilliantly conceived puzzle game from CrazyLabs is available to download

It seems I have been waiting for this game to come out for ages. The first time I saw video of this game, I was immediately impressed by how wonderfully brilliantly the gameplay appeared to be. CrazyLabs and EON Games have created an intriguing puzzle game called Fold the World. You have to see the game in action. Once you do, I am certain you will be impressed too. The game has been available to download in the Play Store for a couple of weeks now and you should definitely try it.

Fold the World was released for iOS last year. It has already received awards for being the Best Mobile Game, Excellence in Visual Design and has a Best of 2015 Apple App Store Award. With these accolades firmly in place, CrazyLabs has finally released the game for Android gamers. The game has a free to play demo, and then you can unlock other levels by rainbow gems or a monetary pricing structure that is quite reasonable. You don’t have to worry about unreasonable in-app purchases with this game.

“Fold the world of Paper Kingdom to discover the incredible tale of the triangle curse. Guide Yolo through beautifully crafted puzzles, uncover hidden paths and outsmart the evil Lord of Darkness. Fold the World is a stunning exploration of Paper Kingdom, a puzzling storybook world, where exciting plot twists await you behind every fold.” – Crazy Labs

If you enjoy puzzle games, Fold the World is a well-crafted collection of puzzles that gain in complexity as you progress. Your adorable little character Yolo needs your help as he makes his way through varied environments. The goal is to get to the end of the puzzle by dragging Yolo on a serpentine like path. The challenge is connecting the paths to make that happen. You start off with a flat piece of paper with segmented routes. The colorful paper shows arrows that you can tap, which folds the paper on itself. If you have trouble folding a newspaper, you will find this game to be a bit more challenging, but still plenty of fun to play.

The paper folds up, down, left and right. There are folds upon folds and it gets pretty tough to figure out on some levels. Each level has multiple little puzzle pieces that Yolo can pick up on his path. Some are easy to see, and others are hidden behind folds and you have to figure out how to get Yolo there. You can finish some of the levels without getting the puzzle pieces, but you won’t check all the boxes for completing the level. There isn’t a timer that is visible, but if you don’t complete the puzzle in a timely manner, you won’t three star the level. I like not having a visible clock, because the game is really about exploration. You can always play the level again to finish the puzzle faster. Completing all the goals on the level will allow you to obtain rainbow gems, which serve as the currency in the game. You use the gems for hints, which at some point, I guarantee you will need.

There are three different worlds to explore: Forest Tale, Desert Tale  and Dream Tale. The first world is Forest Tale and you can play through those puzzles for free. You can unlock Desert Tale for $.99 or 100 rainbow gems, which you can collect during gameplay if you successfully three star the level or in this case, they aren’t stars, but cute colorful animals. Desert Tale can be unlocked for $1.99 or 200 rainbow gems, or you can unlock everything for $2.99 and receive 250 rainbow gems. As I mentioned previously, the puzzles start off relatively easy, but by the time you hit the twentieth puzzle in the first world, your cranium may need to be scratched. The game does include ads, and you are asked before each level if you want to watch an ad to gain more rainbow gems. Watching a twenty second ad will net you 4 gems.

Fold the World Features:

  • Stunning 3D artwork inspired by the magic of traditional pop-up books. Every puzzle is a unique experience and a magnificent work of art.
  • Fold the paper to guide Yolo on his path and solve the puzzles. Easy to learn, magnificently clever puzzles for the whole family!
  • Original soundtrack provides a playful and magical feel. Highly immersive audio-visual gaming experience.

Fold the World is a brilliant and challenging puzzle game. You will enjoy helping Yolo on his journey and the story that goes along with the game. You can try it for free and then pay for the levels that you want, or unlock them using gems by watching ads. $2.99 is money well spent for a game of this high-quality. All the details that Eon Games and Crazy Labs have put into Fold the World are apparent with each fold of paper. If you are looking for a puzzle game that is unique and fun, Fold the World is worth downloading.
