Worms W.M.D: Mobilize Brings the Multiplayer Mayhem Back to its Roots

Team 17 just released Worms W.M.D: Mobilize on Android, entirely without fanfare. That’s surprising when you consider just how intriguing this brand new entry in the series really is.

Wait, This Isn’t a Gacha?

That’s right – this isn’t some free-to-play gacha monstrosity where you pay extortionate amounts of money to unlock worms with different weapons.

No, it’s a fully-fledged new entry, featuring a lengthy offline single player campaign that you can play fully offline. There are 30 campaign missions in total, which should keep you busy for some time.

Is There Multiplayer?

Worms W.M.D: Mobilize is full of multiplayer shenanigans, allowing you to play however you want – be it online against strangers, or locally with your friends. Just like the glorious olden days.

But what we love most about this new entry is the visuals. Rather than force 3D, or try and get with the times and make some hideous anime version, it looks exactly like we’d imagine a classic Worms game would in 2023.

How Did Team 17 Pull That Off?

In fact, that’s by design. Team 17 claims on Google Play that W.M.D: Mobilize was developed in a brand new engine that aims to recapture the old school feel in an entirely new package. We’re all here for it.

Yet it’s not all, err, old. There are also a huge number of new weapons, buildings, and vehicles that should help keep the franchise fresh, even to those that have played every previous entry for hours at a time.

Where Can I Get It?

In short, Worms W.M.D: Mobilize is an incredibly welcome surprise. If you’d like to check it out for yourself, head on over to Google Play right now to do just that.
