Kemco, who generally doesn’t release anything but big retro-style RPG titles, has just launched another one onto Android called DarkGate. This particular game is a whole new story and isn’t a follow-up to previously released games like Symphony of Eternity.
Google has also changed the policy in regards to third-party billing services and the use of those services by Android developers. Now that the Google Play store has both in-app purchases and subscription services, Google has decided to make sure developers use their services instead of others.
Google sent out an email late yesterday detailing some new Google Developer Policy changes that will be taking effect that looks to take steps to reduce the number of shady apps and games, along with fake apps and anything else deemed suspicious on the Google Play store. Great news for legit developers who get their games cloned and for all of us who have to watch out for clones.
Another game slated for release on OUYA at some point, possibly shortly after the console’s launch, is a game called Covet which is inspired by the Thief: The Dark Project game. Covet will be a multiplayer stealth game that will be released onto multiple platforms such as your browser, PC, Mac, Linux and OUYA.
If you haven’t gotten enough RPG news from Square Enix the last couple of weeks, here is another nugget of information for you to salivate over. Apparently Square Enix is working on a new RPG that will be ‘Hardware-Free’, allowing gamers to play and access it anywhere.
Support for the Android-based gaming console continues to grow and now we have one of the first indie developers to publicly come out and announce their support for the console with the release of their first game called GunBlitz. This little gem of a game is a side-scrolling arcade shooter for those of you who enjoy games like R-Type.
Here’s a new game that can remind us of certain games like Worms in its basic gameplay. Now if you like tanks and weird-looking landscapes, you’ll probably dig this one. Iron Crusade, which happens to be the very first game from Wyse Games that makes its way to Android, promises to give you a fair amount of fun once you get the basics of it.
RenRen Games have told us that they will be bringing their highly successful MMO strategy game (currently on iOS and for browsers) over to Android called Chaos of Three Kingdoms Deluxe. This will feature full cross-platform multiplayer so you will be able to battle it out with your friends even if they are playing the browser version or on their iOS device.
For those of you with a superiority complex or just like to pretend you are a Godzilla like creature crushing the insignificant humans under your feet, then there is now a game for you to appeal to your sudden need crush an entire city and the population of it along with it.
Glu recently released the continuous driving game Mutant Roadkill not so long ago. Well they have come back with yet another mutant/zombie car driving killing game, and it seems they want to make a stand by combining two fairly familiar genres in Gears & Guts. As always, you’ll find plenty of action in the game, as well as a big bunch of ads for in-game purchases.
