In a move that will surely disappoint a fair amount of mobile gamers while others will probably be just fine if this goes through, Electronic Arts is currently in talks with Microsoft regarding the next Windows OS for mobile and that EA could very well make that their central platform for their mobile gaming strategy.
Binary Helix are the developers behind a game we have talked about in the past called Dangerous and the newest graphically enhanced version of the game called Dangerous HD. Linh Ngo from Binary Helix decided to post an interesting Post-Mortem about their experiences with both Google Play and the iOS App Store and how Google Play, in their case, is better for them along with dispelling some of the myths behind the Google Play store.
Two classic games that have been brought over to Android thanks to DotEmu have gone on sale for a pretty hefty discount over on Amazon’s AppStore. Both Another World and R-Type have had their prices dropped by up to 82% off, making picking up a copy of either game pretty damn cheap.
OUYA pre-orders outside of Kickstarter now up for $109, talks with Namco Bandai on the go and more
Another week has begun and with it comes some more OUYA news to roll around in and enjoy. First off pre-orders for OUYA units are now available outside of Kickstarter for those of you who didn’t drop some money on their campaign in order to get one early. Instead of the $99 price tag OUYA donators got their units for, pre-ordering now will set you back $109 instead ($119 for outside the US).
There is definitely a trend going on right now with resurrecting the classics from back in the day that a lot of us used to play. This trend doesn’t really seem to be slowing down, keeping a consistent pace with new titles being brought to modern times. The latest title looking to make a comeback is Wings, a classic game for the Amiga and yes, there is a Kickstarter for it.
Gamescom is just around the corner and already we have had plenty of announcements about companies and their games that they will be displaying during the event. One such company is 11 Bit Studios, developers of the rather awesome tower offense game Anomaly: Warzone Earth, which have now announced three new games heading our way including a sequel to Anomaly: Warzone Earth.
One game we have reported on a couple of times in the past month or so is a new game from Gamevil called Punch Hero. Breaking away from their usual casual puzzle or RPG releases, Punch Hero brings a little sporting action to the Gamevil catalog of mobile games, rendered in 3D visuals.
Back in April of this year we talked about a cross-platform multiplayer RTS game geared a little bit more towards the hardcore gamer called AirMech coming to Android this year. Developed by Carbon Games, this RTS title looks like it could be nearing it’s release thanks to a press release Carbon Games put out detailing the upcoming beta.
Last week we broke the story about Gameloft’s first Unreal Engine built game and the fact it would be called Wild Blood thanks to a little sleuthing on the part of one of our readers. Gameloft has decided to just come right out and announce that the game’s name is indeed Wild Blood. Along with this, Gameloft has released the first trailer for it.
