Android Gaming Headlines and Updates: League of Legends: Wild Rift, Call of Duty: Warzone, Brawlhalla, and More

Rumors are slippery things, with wildly varying degrees of reliability. This week’s rumor that Call of Duty: Warzone is coming to mobile is pretty much a lock, however, so you can look forward to another battle royale option beyond the twin peaks of Fortnite and PUBG Mobile.

Elsewhere, there are some more definite prospects heading downstream, including a long-awaited mobile take on League of Legends.

Registrations for the Project Cars Go Closed Beta Have Begun on Android

Project Cars Go is open for pre-registrations, though only in the UK, the US, Australia, and Canada. Sorry everybody else. Or maybe we’re not sorry, since Project Cars Go looks a far cry from its console roots. In fact, it’s shaping up to be a free-to-play drag racing game along the lines of CSR Racing and Microsoft’s widely reviled Forza Street.

League of Legends: Wild Rift is Getting a Closed Beta with Six New Champions

Despite basically inventing the MOBA genre, League of Legends has never been on mobile. Wild Rift is set to fix that, its latest closed beta is coming next week. Unfortunately for most of us, it’s only in Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, and the Phillippines for now.

Rumor: Call of Duty: Warzone is Coming to Mobile

Job ads are the number one source of mobile gaming rumors, and once again a job ad has tipped us off to an exciting development behind closed doors. Call of Duty: Warzone, the CoD-flavored take on the battle royale genre, is almost certainly coming to mobile at some point in the future.

Black Desert Mobile Gets a New Region in its Latest Update

Okay, so this headline is tragically misleading. Even wrong. We got the wrong end of the stick. While Black Desert Mobile is getting a new region, called Hadum’s Realm, it hasn’t arrived yet. When it arrives, you’ll have access to a new questline and a new merchantry. For now, watch this video.

There’s a Japan-Only Fist of the North Star ARPG in the Works Called Shin Hokuto Musuo Mobile

Details are thin on the ground, but developer Midas and publisher Koei Tecmo are working on an action-RPG based on the Fist of the North Star franchise. It’s called Shin Hokuto Musuo Mobile, and, as you can probably tell from the name, it’s Japan-only. Looks pretty exciting in the screenshots though.

Supercell’s First Animated Short Has Been Viewed Nearly 30 Million Times in 3 Days: Watch It Here

When a mobile reaches a certain level of success, it spills over into other formats. Just as Angry Birds became a movie, Clash of Clans has become a short film, though not quite on the same scale. It’s about 12 minutes long, but it’s a smartly told story and the CGI is perfectly respectable.

Brawlhalla is cross-platform, and all versions get the same updates, so we can expect exciting things from Ubisoft’s free-to-play Smash Bros-alike. The latest Battle Pass, season two, is ’80s themed, and it adds a new map called Sun Drive City. You can experience much of it for free, or pay $9.99 for the deluxe package.

PUBG Mobile

Despite only recently reaching version 1.0, PUBG Mobile is now into its 15th Battle Pass. The latest one is called Beyond A.C.E., and it contains new challenges and a range of new costumes and classic outfits, as well as a few tweaks to its interface.
