Well, after last week’s slightly disappointing effort, the past seven days have seen some really, really good games landing on the Play Store. And since it’s Saturday, that means it’s our chance to pick the best of them.
There’s a decent mix this week, from casual RPGs to car-sual sports games. See what we did there? We’ve even snuck a Viking in, because that’s the sort of crazy thing we like to do.
You can click on the names of the games below to download them from the Play Store, and unless otherwise stated they’re premium. If you think a different new game deserves some love, be sure and shout about it in the comments section.
Sure, it might not be the full Rocket League experience, but Sideswipe is crammed full of ridiculous, bouncing, boosting fun. It’s challenging in all the right ways, and perfectly captures the balanced chaos that made the original game so entertaining. This one’s free with IAP.
Where else but on mobile could you go from car-based chaos to working in a hotel mail room? Hotel Hermes might not be action packed, but it’s a super smart RPG puzzler with some interesting twists and a unique vibe.
Another entry in the Bloons tower defense series. This one sees you playing against other gamers, controlling your towers and the flow of balloons that’s assaulting your opponent. It’s fun, but there are some balancing issues. It’s free with IAP.
A charming RPG sequel that sees you delivering post to the dangerous corners of a brightly colored fantasy world. There’s loads to do, plenty of interesting characters to meet, and some engaging, if simple, combat. It’s free with IAP.
A survival game that sees you trying to thrive in the foreboding wastes after you’ve been rejected from Valhalla. Build a castle, craft new gear and fight off horrors as you try and find the magical items you need to get to the hall of the gods.
