The Best New Games for Android This Week – Where’s Samantha, Mimelet and More

2022 has kicked off, and with it a bunch of new games have landed on the Play Store. Which means it’s time for us to round up the very best new titles that have launched for Android this week.

Over the past seven days we’ve had more than our fair share of excellent platformers, as well as a dungeon crawling co-op action game. So that’s pretty cool, yeah?

You can click on the names of the games below to download them from the Play Store. And if you think you might have spotted a new game worthy of some attention, let us know in the comments section.

Where’s Samantha?

A physics-based platform puzzler with a story about swatches of cloth in love and a heart of gold. It’s fun, it’s brilliantly well put together, and it’s kinda hard not to fall for it. The first chunk is free, and there’s an IAP to unlock the rest.

Tower Hunter: Ezra’s Trial

A hacky slashy roguelike action RPG platformer that sees you battling your way to the top of the titular tower. There’s some excellent, in-depth violence here, and the game looks gorgeous too.

A smart, short burst of platforming goodness that sees you bouncing on the heads of your enemies in order to steal their powers. It’s loads of fun, and once you get stuck in you’ll want to see it through to the bitter end. This one’s free, with an IAP to get rid of the ads.

Koala Rush

An auto-runner that sees you collecting leaves, dodging spikes and flames and other obstacles, and protecting koalas. When it speeds up, it’s pretty darn addictive. It’s free with IAPs, and a percentage of the profits goes to save koalas in the wild.

Quest Hunter

A slightly simple dungeon crawler with some neat ideas, and your story choices change how it plays. You can play co-op online, or team up with friends on the same device. There’s puzzles, violence, randomly generated dungeons and loads more. It’s free with an unlock IAP.
