One Stand in Bizarre Lineage is not like the others. Can you guess which one it is? It’s probably the one that’s a big sword. The Bizarre Lineage Anubis Stand is probably the most unique one in the game so far, and, as far as we’re concerned, one of the best ones to set out with. Why’s that? Let us tell you.
All About Bizarre Lineage Anubis
Okay, time to tackle the big questions.
What Is Anubis?
Not sure what it means? Anubis is one of the Stands available in the current build. Arguably, it’s one of the best ones you can get, in spite of being relatively common. Unlike most of the Stands you can get so far, Anubis doesn’t look like a weird-looking guy aura farming by your right shoulder. Instead, Anubis looks like a katana. If you see anyone running around with a purple glowy sword? Probably Anubis.
How Do You Get Anubis?
You can get hold of Anubis the same way as most other Stands, by using a Stand Arrow. You’ll find these all other the place. They’re in Chests, you get them as rewards for missions, you can buy them from Raid Shops… and sometimes you’ll find them lying around on the ground.
Poking yourself with a Stand Arrow rolls a new Stand, and that may be Anubis. In fact, there’s a fairly good chance it will be Anubis, because it’s not even a very rare Stand. We got it first try with a normal Stand Arrow, so it’s not a very long grind to get it.
Is Anubis Good?
Anubis is very good. In fact, we’d argue that Anubis is one of the best choices for your Stand, especially if you’re new to the game. (Yes, we know it was nerfed recently, but even with that nerf, we still think it’s a top tier Stand.)
Why?
- As a sword, Anubis is easy to use, and easy to judge distances on. You don’t need to adapt to the slightly tricky ‘angling your stand in front of you to hit enemies’ aspect of striking with your Stand, which is one of the more awkward bits of combat. (Love Gold Experience, but have misjudged the distance on Soul Strike many a time at this point.)
- The Barrage has a AOE range which makes it a lot more useful in combat than other Barrages.
- The progressive Bleed is wonderful and really lets you cheese PVE fights pretty effectively and punch well above your weight. You can trigger the Bleed effect and back off to a safe distance while your opponent suffers.
What’s Anubis’ Moveset?
The way movesets work in A Bizarre Lineage is that you unlock them through gaining Conjuration Levels. You get those by completing objectives and defeating enemies using your Stand.
Anubis starts out with two moves.
E – Barrage
A lot lasting AOE attack move. Deals bleed.
R – Rend
A short-range AOE slashing attack that hits everyone in the immediate vicinity. Deals bleed.
Gaining Conjuration levels lets you unlock the following extra moves.
Z – Dice Out (Conjuration 20)
A forward charge with a damaging slash. This inflicts a short stun that you can exploit if you get in quick enough. Deals bleed.
X – Cursed Severance (Conjuration 40)
A stunning single target slash. I mean literally it stuns, not that it’s amazing, though it is pretty good. Deals bleed.
C – Flash Strike (Conjuration 60)
A grab move with multiple hits a lot of damage (assuming you can land it, of course) Deals bleed.
H – Ultimate (Usable whilst Awakened)
Drag your opponent into a world of hurt as you surround them with a dark vortex and slash at them multiple times.
