Anime Defenders Evolution Guide
Some units enjoy an evolution which changes their physical appearance, name and stats. Naturally, evolution improves the unit by a bunch so it is recommended to grind for each unit’s unique evolution material. Only units which are Mythical or Secret rarity can evolve, so don’t get high hopes for your Legendary, Epic and Rares.
All Evolutions require an item made up of Star Rifts. You obtain these items via Missions and Quests with a low drop chance.
- Red Star Rift – Legendary
- Yellow Star Rift – Legendary
- Blue Star Rift – Legendary
- Purple Star Rift – Legendary
- Rainbow Star Rift – Mythical
To get started with evolving, head to the lobby and enter the Summons room. Within the room is a section titled ‘Evolution’, heading into the area will trigger a popup screen which prompts you to evolve a unit.

- Sharpshooter -> Proficient Sharpshooter
- x2 Skysplitting Arrows
- Esper -> Unstable Esper
- 1x Esper’s Soul
- Elf Wizardess -> Elf Hero
- 3x Flame Grimoire
- Skull Warrior -> Skull Paladin
- x1 Skull Mask
- Ant King -> Ant King (Unlocked)
- 1x Blue Soul
- Thunder Shinobi -> Thunder God
- 2x Shadow Eye
- Carp -> Prime Carp
- 1x Marine Hat
- Flame Dragon King -> Flame Dragon God
- 1x Fire Dragon Soul
- Curse Prince -> Curse King
- 2x Cursed Finger
- Donut Warrior -> Donut Master
