One of the most important decisions in any monster catching game is which Starter to go for. With that said, what’s the best Starter in Tales of Tanorio? Read on for my thoughts on the matter.

Tales of Tanorio is a monster catching game on the Roblox platform. In the tradition of the genre, it gives you three Tanorians to choose from at the outset: Charcile, Rabush, and Chewaqua. Which of these is the safest bet? Read on to find out.

Tales of Tanorio is available to play on Roblox now. For more on the game, check out our Tales of Tanorio Weathers guide. Alternatively, give our guide to the best farming route in Tales of Tanorio a whirl.

What’s The Best Starter In Tales Of Tanorio?

In this guide, we’ll break down each of the three Starter Tanorians, and give you our pick of the best one!

Charcile – The Fire-Type Option

Charcile is a Fire-type Starter based on a rattlesnake. It evolves into Serprince at level 16, and then into Ignidall at level 36. Its base stats are as follows.

Going off of its base stats, Charcile is a speedy physical attacker with low defences relative to the other Starters. If you believe a good offense is the best defence, this is the Starter for you!

In terms of typing, Charcile and Serprince are pure Fire types, but Ignidall gains the Air type. This gives it an advantage against Grass, Bug, and Fighting types.

Rabush – The Grass-Type Option

Definitely the winner of the ‘Cutest Starter’ award, Rabush is a delightful Grass type based on a rabbit. It has the following base stats.

Rabush is a fast Ranged Attacker, even outspeeding Charcile. This means it plays quite similarly to Charcile in combat, albeit on the Ranged side rather than the physical side. It also has better Defences, but slightly lower Health.

Rabush begins as a pure Grass type, and stays that way when it evolves into Lunare. Once it becomes a Guardemis at level 36, however, it gains the Cosmic type. This gives it an advantage against Water, Fire, Air, Earth, and other Cosmic types.

Chewaqua – The Water-Type Option

Chewaqua is the Water type of the Starter trio, clearly based on some kind of toy dog like a chihuahua. It has the following base stats.

Chewaqua is the bulkiest of the three Starters, with high Health and physical Defence stats, and low Speed to compensate. He also has solid Attack, but fairly weak Ranged stats, in both Attack and Defense. He’s great at trading hits up close, but not so good at a distance.

Chewaqua and its evolved form Aquazol are both pure Water types. Its final form, Jespirit, is also a Ghost type, however. This gives it an edge against Psychic and Ghost types, but is mostly just a solid defensive typing that supports its existing bulk.

The Verdict – Which Is The Best Starter?

So based on all of the above, which Starter is the best choice for your adventure? In my opinion, Charcile is the clear early choice, since it has a type advantage against most of the Tanorians present in the first two Stadiums. It doesn’t gain much on evolution, but Air gives it some welcome extra coverage, making it a solid choice throughout.

Rabush is a close second. It doesn’t have as strong a start, but once it fully evolves, the Cosmic type gives it a huge edge. It’s a great one to pick if you’re a long-term thinker.

Chewaqua is the worst of both worlds: it’s not great early, and it’s not great later on either. Its defensive typing makes it a solid support Tanorian, but its not an all-star team-sweeper like the other two.
