DC Heroes and Villains official artwork, depicting Batman, Wonder Woman, and more.

Just started playing the new match three puzzler by Jam City and aren’t sure which characters to add to your party? Well, fear not, for that’s exactly what I aim to focus on in this DC Heroes and Villains tier list. In this guide, I rank all of the characters from S tier to D tier, to help you determine which character to add to your party.

DC Heroes and Villains is a match three puzzler that sees you recruiting your favourite DC characters, placing them into a party, and sending them out into battle against your enemies. Battles take the form of match three puzzles, with you focusing on enemy weaknesses when choosing which colour of orb to match during each attack. You can also unleash special attacks to deal a ton of damage.

You can learn more about DC Heroes and Villains by checking out the official site. We’ve also got a Survivor.io tier list, Tales of Yokai tier list, and Memento Mori tier list.

DC Heroes and Villains Best Characters

Let’s take a look at the DC Heroes and Villains best characters, including skills, and details on why I picked them.

Aquaman

Aquaman is a a powerful unit that just decimates his opponents by continuously stripping them of buffs and barriers. He’s the DC equivalent of a battering ram.

  • Passive:
    • At the beginning of each turn, Aquaman has 40% chance to apply Anti-Buff debuff to one random enemy for three turns.
  • Power Move:
    • Suppress Barriers on all enemies.
    • Attack all enemies (3 hits). Damage multiplier: 90%.
    • Removes all buffs from enemies.

Circe

Circe grows stronger as she gains buffs and debuffs, and is capable of dishing out some serious damage. She also has serious support chops, throwing up barriers and flipping debuffs to buffs.

  • Passive:
    • For each buff and debuff applied to Circe, increase her attack and defense stats by 3%.
    • Each time she is targeted by a power move, unless she has red color up buff, Circe inflicts red color down debuff on herself for 10 turns.
  • Power Move:
    • Flips all debuffs to their buff equivalent on all allies.
    • Attack a single enemy (1 hit). Damage multiplier: 220%.
    • Generate a barrier on all allies equal to 6% of Circe’s Max HP, +1% for each buff applied to Circe.

Halo

Halo is a great support hero that can provide barriers and punish enemies when they hit an ally with one. I like this unit because they can also dish out decent DPS.

  • Passive:
    • Whenever enemies attack an ally with a barrier, they are inflicted with vulnerability debuff for 6 turns.
    • When Halo performs a basic attack, Katana and Halo both gain a barrier equal to 5% of Halo’s Max HP.
  • Power Move:
    • Attack a single enemy (1 hit). Damage multiplier: 126%.
    • Inflict anti-heal debuff on the target for 5 turns.
    • Inflict damage over time debuff on the target for 5 turns.

Harley Quinn

Harley Quinn is one of the game’s best debuffers. Not only does she throw them out with wild abandon passively, but she can swap all buffs to debuffs on a single opponent with her power move.

Just make sure you bring a good healer, as Harley loses HP using her passive.

  • Passive:
    • At the start of each turn, Harley Quinn has a 100% chance to lose 3% of her HP to inflict either a Lethargy, Accuracy Down, or Attack Down debuff on one random enemy for 2 turns.
  • Power Move:
    • Target a single enemy and flip all buffs to their debuff equivalent, then attack (1hit). Damage multiplier: 156%.
    • Inflict Lockdown debuff on target for 1 turns.

Lex Luthor

A solid buffing unit that’s best used alongside Legion of Doom allies, as he’s great at boosting them.

  • Passive:
    • Each time an ally gains a buff, fill that ally’s Power Gauge by 8%. Each time a Legion of Doom ally is inflicted with a debuff, fill that ally’s Power Gauge by 8%.
  • Power Move:
    • Kryptonite Attack.
    • Attack a single enemy (1 hit). Damage multiplier: 240%.
    • Extend all buffs by +1 turns on all allies. Grant Immunity buff on all allies for 3 turns.

Raven

Raven is best used in a team of Teen Titans, as her passive really benefits them. Other than that, she’s a good debuffer.

  • Passive:
    • At the start of battle, and each time Raven performs a power move, grant immunity buff to all Teen Titan allies for 2 turns.
    • Grant heal over time buff to all teen titan allies for 4 turns.
  • Power Move:
    • Attack all enemies (1 hit). Damage multiplier: 86%.
    • Inflict defense down debuff on all targets for 3 turns.
    • Inflict anti-heal debuff on all targets for 2 turns.

Superman

Superman is a strong unit that is completely immune to critical hits and can taunt enemies. He’s easily one of the best tanks in the game, and one you should definitely hunt down if you can.

  • Passive:
    • Immune to Critical Hits.
    • Start the battle with Immunity buff for 24 turns.
    • When hit by a Kryptonite Attack, remove Superman’s buffs and inflict Superman with Vulnerability, Attack Down, and Lethargy debuffs for 5 turns.
  • Power Move:
    • Attack a single enemy (1 hit). Damage multiplier: 208%.
    • Grant Taunt buff on self for 3 turns.

The Joker

The Joker is a great crowd controlling unit that can inflict debuffs galore on his enemies. He’s a great addition to the team who has great support options.

  • Passive:
    • Each time The Joker takes damage, there is a 60% chance that the enemy is inflicted with Anti-Heal debuff for three turns.
    • When The Joker’s HP falls bellow 50% of his Max HP, he removes all debuffs from himself and grants the Stealth buff on himself for 5 turns.
  • Power Move:
    • Suppress Barriers on all enemies. Attack all enemies (1 hit). Damage multiplier: 66%.
    • Inflict Attack Down debuff on all targets for 3 turns.
    • Grant Taunt buff on one random ally for 1 turn.

The Riddler

The Riddler is one of the best green units that can keep the green tiles coming. He’s also a solid debuffer and can reduce the power gauges of all targets.

  • Passive:
    • At the end of each turn, The Riddler has a 60% chance to convert a random tile into a Green Tile.
    • After performing a power move, The Riddler converts a random tile into a green special tile of either a horizontal line, vertical line, or cross.
  • Power Move:
    • Attack all enemies (1 hit) dealing no damage.
    • Cannot be blocked or dodged.
    • Reduce all targets’ power gauges by 20%.
    • Inflict Lethargy on all targets for 6 turns.
    • Inflict Red Color Down debuff on all targets for 6 turns.

Vandal Savage

Vandal Savage is one of the best tanks in the game, capable of maintaining taunt and healing himself.

  • Passive:
    • At the start of each turn, Vandal Savage heals himself by 4% of his max HP.
    • Immune to Vulnerability debuff.
    • Immune to Defense Down debuff.
  • Power Move:
    • Attack random enemies (4 hits). Damage multiplier: 58% per hit.
    • Grant taunt buff on self for 3 turns.
    • Convert a random tile into a blue tile.

Wonder Woman

Wonder Woman is The Riddler of red tiles, yet even more powerful. She’s particularly great at taking down tanks.

  • Passive:
    • At the beginning of battle, convert 2 random tiles into red tiles.
    • Fill Wonder Woman’s power gauge by 40% when she blocks.
  • Power Move:
    • Attack a single enemy (1 hit). Damage multiplier: 194%.
    • Cannot be blocked.
    • Inflict block down debuff on the target for 5 turns.
    • Remove taunt buff from the target.
    • If taunt buff was removed by this ability, inflict vulnerability debuff on that enemy for 3 turns.
