What Are Rescue NPCs?
The most recent update for Deadly Delivery (November 21st) added NPC rescues as a mechanic! This allows you to bring NPCs up from the underground to net some new rewards.
How To Rescue NPCs
So, how to you save NPCs?
First, you need to find them. NPCs show up in sublevels, where you can find them sitting on the floor, tied up with ropes. In order to free them, you need to make your way over and interact, holding the button long enough to untie the ropes.
After that, the NPC should start following you around. Once they’re following, lead them over to the elevator in order to free them.
What Do You Get For Rescuing NPCs?
If you can get the NPC back to the elevator, they should head inside, and the second they get in, they should despawn and drop a bag of gold. This will give you a bigger gold reward than anything you are likely to find on the floor, so it’s well worth doing.
There are also unique NPCs that give special rewards, but we’ll explain each of them in more depth in the Special NPC section below.
Are There Any Special NPCs?
There are a few special NPCs that you should look out for in particular, too. These bring some unique benefits if you free them.
- Sam – Can be found on Sublevel 10 or lower. You’ll need Sam to unlock the Porter class now.
- Graves – Can be found on Sublevel 15 or lower. Graves is used in unlocking the Veteran class.
