It’s the season of cows, they’re ripe and ready for unearthing! In this Dig Cow Guide, I tell you where to find these farmland animals, their preferences, and what good it does to find them.

Why You Might Need a Cow
If you visit Tom’s Bakery, located within the mountainside halfway up Cinder Approach, you’ll pick up one of four random quests. One, appropriately named Cow Tipper, requests the player to dig 1 Cow and return it to Tom for a reward.
His reward scheme offers plenty of Baked Goods, which enhance random stats for a short duration, an Essence Totem every 7th quest, and two titles at the 10th quest (Breadwinner) and 100th quest (Baker).
The Dig Cow Preferences
So, whether you’re helping out Tom’s Bakery or completing your journal, you may wonder where to get a Cow and what it likes.
First, take a trip to Verdant Vale, the vibrant farm local to Fox Town. During the Summertime, you may be lucky enough to find a cow in the mud. This legendary rarity animal has no preferred magnet, day cycle, or weather preferences.
Each Season in Dig lasts for around 9 hours and 30 minutes based on a real-world clock. To view the current season, head in-game and check the bottom right corner for the Time, Season, and Weather.
I also recommend having a decent Shovel, as Legendary items tend to have a quicker timer during the minigame, and higher stats will help you secure the Cow quickly, whilst still allowing for one or two weaker digs.
