Doors Floor 2 Grumble Boss Guide
Where Is Grumble?
You find Grumble in Room 150 of Floor 2, though ‘Room’ might be a bit of an understatement. The Nest is a large area, and a very dangerous one.
You begin in your minecart ride away from the previous dangers, but Doors is not giving you much of a break, as Grumble gives chase and you’re thrown from your minecart and need to outrun the toothy monstrosity and get behind the relative safety of a closing blast door.
Congrats! Now here comes the hard part.
How To Beat Grumble
This abomination will require you to use your skills of evasion, memory, and a bit of maths. Bad news for me on all counts, but let’s explain the theory at least.
We’ll go over it step by step.
- Once you’re in the main room of 150, start up the terminal.
- To beat Grumble, you must activate multiple ‘Anchors’ around the area. These resemble pillars with computer terminals and numbered keypads.
- The main terminal will give you a code to enter into an Anchor, and point its top antenna in the direction you need to go.
- Head in the direction the antenna pointed to search for the Anchor.
- Grumble will appear in different places around the area, and chase you if he detects you. You can avoid him by moving into small passages, hiding in lockers, or returning to the main terminal room.
- Enter the correct code into an Anchor, then return to the main terminal room to get the next code.
Code Numbers Puzzle
Once you’ve done the first Anchor and moved to the second, it gets a little complicated. The code you’re given isn’t actually the correct code.. but it will help you find the correct code.
Look for a sticky note on the Anchor. It will have a number and a mathematical sign, like +1 or -2.
You need to do the sum with every digit in the code. For example, if your code was 123, and the sticky note on the Anchor read +2, then you would do the following sums.
- 1+2 = 3
- 2+2 =4
- 3+2 = 5
So the code you put in would be 345.
If the sticky tells you to subtract numbers, and a number goes below 0, then it goes to 9 and counts down. So again for example, if the code is 123 and the sticky note on the Anchor reads -2, you would work it out like this.
- 1 – 2 = 9
- 2 -2 = 0
- 3 – 2 = 1
So the code would be 901.
Escaping
Once you’ve manages to activate all the Anchors, head to the main terminal again. Hit it one more time to drop a bridge. Then it’s time to book it, the main room is no longer safe. Hurry along the bridge and make it to the ladder before Grumble catches you.
