The new Mariana’s Veil update just arrived, but to get to the new content you need to first assemble yourself a submersible. Sadly, the parts are jammed in lava rocks all over Roslit. Do not despair, though. Our Fisch drill guide will tell you how to acquire the parts, and upgrade your sub later on.

Fisch Drill Guide
Update, October 2025: Currently, drilling is disabled pending improvements to the feature. If you want to get the Submarine, you can use the code TemporarySubmarine for now to get all the parts.
With the new update you should find Dr Glimmerfin on a new dock near the Roslit Island lighthouse. (Coordinates: X -1315 Y 132 Z 309). He’s ready to send a submarine down to the newly-opening Mariana’s Veil, but he’s lost his submarine parts. It’s up to you to find them, and you’ll need to drill for it.
How To Get The Drill And Drill Lava Rocks
First thing’s first, you need to equip the drill. How do you get it? It’s easier than you might expect, you should already have it in your inventory. If you’re having trouble finding it, maybe try sorting by name and check items beginning with D… we know how packed Fisch inventories get.
Equip the drill to your hotbar, and hit that number on the hotbar to equip it to your hand. You should see some cracked, blue rocks around Roslit that weren’t there before. Approach one with your drill, setting the drill bit into the rock, and hit LMB repeatedly, the rock’s HP should go down, and eventually, it will crack. Then, all going well, you should get a submarine part.
Assembling The Submarine
You need to drill the rocks until you have the five different parts you need for the sub, listed below.
- Back Fins
- Metal Panels
- Side Fins
- Submarine Top
- Windows
Once you have there, head over to Dr Glimmerfin’s dock, and the transparent ‘ghost’ sub there. Equip each part into your hands and interact with the sub to place the part. Once you’ve placed all the parts, speak to Dr Glimmerfin again. He’ll open Marina’s Veil, and spawn your shiny new submarine.
Upgrading The Submarine
As you descend through Mariana’s Veil, you’ll need the drill again, to find new parts and upgrades. The basic strategy is the same, but things may get a little more dangerous the further you go. Just make sure to set your spawn and keep on drilling for new parts.
