Grace Carnation Guide
Let’s talk about this fiendish flower.
About Carnation
Carnation is one of the first entities you’re likely to run into when playing Grace, as it appears on the first floor, before even the timer does. Carnation’s arrival is shown through a flash of pink and black static on the screen, followed by pink tentacles on the corners. Once spawned, Carnation races along the hallway as a speed much faster than you. If it catches up with you and touches you, then that’s your run over.
How To Survive Carnation
Carnation isn’t chasing you, it’s just following the main line of the corridor. So, if you get out of the main hallways and hide, you can avoid death. Look for a light. These point to small crawlspaces that act as safe zones from Carnation. Crawl or slide into one and wait for the monster to pass by. The visual disturbances should disappear from your screen, and you should be good to go.
Carnation Tips
Here are a few other hints and tips in case you’re having trouble.
- Try to memorize where crawlspaces are in certain room layouts. It can help you route to a hiding place quicker.
- Some hiding spots are actually alternate paths that join back up with the main hallway. Be careful with these that you don’t exit again in front of Carnation.
- There should always be a hiding spot no more than three rooms away when Carnation spawns.
- Remember Carnation’s visual disturbances are pink, while Slugfish and Elkman’s are white and grey respectively.
- Carnation can spawn at the same time as other entities, so don’t rush recklessly into rooms, even if it’s coming. Some entities, like Sorrow and Dozer, will cause Carnation to slow down drastically in the interest of fairness.
