Grow A Garden Mutation Guide
We’ll explain mutations, then the different varieties.
About Mutations
Mutations are special conditions that affect certain single crops. Crops with mutations sell for a higher price than a default crop of the same weight, so obviously that makes them a pretty good thing. There are several different kinds of mutation in the game.
Mutation Types
We’ve currently found three different mutations available in the game as of our last check.
Gold
20x Value Boost
Increases the sale value of the crop. A relatively common mutation makes the crop look gold and shiny. These appear at random, you don’t need to do anything special to get it. Just make sure to pick it up and sell it.
Wet
2x Value Boost
Increases the sale value of crops. The Wet mutation is a bit different from other mutations in that it’s going to hit all your crops at once, because it’s tied to events. The Rain event showers the crops with water, giving them the Wet mutation during the event, and for a certain amount of time afterwards.
Rainbow
50x Value Boost
Greatly increases the sale value of the crop. This mutation can happen to any plant crop at random, you don’t need to do anything special. That said, this mutation only happens very rarely, so you won’t see it too often. The affected crop is surrounded by a rainbow halo and gradually phases through different colors. Pretty!
Chilled
2x Value Boost
These are fruits that got caught in the snow weather event. They shed little chips of ice, and they’re more valuable at the sell stall. This is another mutation picked up rather than generated at the time the fruit grows.
Frozen
10x Value Boost
A combination mutation that takes place when a crop with the Wet mutation is caught in the Snow event. This crop becomes encased in ice and gets a massively higher sale price.
Shocked
100x Value Boost
A rare mutation you can cultivate by placing a Lightning Rod next to your crops. When the Thunder event strikes, lightning should strike the rod, and this should give crops in the area immediately around it the Shocking mutation.
Moonlit
2x Value Boost
This mutation gives purple sparks. It appears at random during Night events. These fruit are used for the Wise Old Owl quest. A Night Staff will boost the chances of these.
Bloodlit
4x Value Boost
A red version of the Moonlit Mutation, this only appears during a Blood Moon.
Celestial
120x Value Boost
A very valuable mutation that gives multicolored sparkles. Celestial fruits comes from crops getting struck by a falling star during a Meteor Shower. A Star Caller will increase the chances of this.
Zombified
25x Value Boost
A mutation caused by the Chicken Zombie Pet.
Disco
125x Value Boost
These colorful flashing fruits are only available via an event that only admins can trigger.
Plasma
4x Value Boost
These fruits appear only through the admin-triggered Lazer Event.
Twisted
5x Value Boost
Torndo events can apply these to fruits at random.
Voidtouched
135x Value Boost
Black Hole events. (Admin only) have a chance to apply this.
Verdant
4x Value Boost
Applied by the Scarlet Macaw pet.
Sundried
85x Value Boost
Heatwave events have a chance to apply this.
Paradisal
8x Value Boost
Plants that get Verdant and Sundried can also get Paradisal
Meteoric
125x Value Boost
Honeyglazed
5x Value Boost
Gained from a Honey Sprinkler.
Windstruck
2x Value Boost
Applied by Windy weather.
Heavenly
5x Value Boost
Applied through the rare Floating Jandel event.
Dawnbound
150x Value Boost
Can by applied to Sunflowers only through the Sun God Eater Egg.
Cooked
10x Value Boost
An effect from the Cooked Owl pet.
Molten
25x Value Boost
Chance to apply during ther Volcano event.
Burnt
4x Value Boost
An effect from the Cooked Owl pet.
Alienized
100x Value Boost
Caused by the UFO event.
Galactic
120x Value Boost
An effect from the Space event.
Fried
8x Value Boost
An effect from the Fried Chicken event.
Aurora
90x Value Boost
An effect from the Aurora Borealis.
