Pets might be adorable, but they’re also useful! Each of your garden’s new tenants bring their own skills to help you, but what does each kind of pet do? That’s what we’re here to explain with our Grow A Garden pet abilities guide. We’ve tried to put together an update with all the pets and what each of them does.

Grow A Garden Pet Abilities Guide
Now, the info. We’ll try to add new pets to the list as soon as we can when there’s a major update. If we don’t have a pet in yet, we’ve not been able to get to the update yet, we will soon!
Pet Abilities A-Z
Here are all the pets currently active in the game running in alphabetical order, so it’s pretty easy to find the one you’re looking for. Below you’ll find their special ability.
Bear Bee
Gives random plant the honey-glazed mutation
Bee
Pollinates random fruits in your garden, giving it the Pollinated Mutation.
Black Bunny
Eats carrots that grow in your garden, for 1.5x their value.
Blood Hedgehog
Increases the size of prickly fruits. (Durians, cacti, pineapple, dragonfruits.)
Blood Kiwi
Sits on eggs to make them hatch faster. (Average of 46 seconds each time the Blood Kiwi activates.)
Blood Owl
Helps other pets gain XP much faster.
Brown Mouse
Boosts pet XP gain.
Bunny
Eats carrots that grow in your garden, for 1.5x their value.
Butterfly
Can take fruits with over 4 mutations, remove the mutations, and give the crop the Rainboe mutation. The crop can then start getting new mutations again.
Cat
Takes naps in the garden, boosting the size and growth of crops within a radius around it while napping.
Caterpillar
Boosts the growth of leafy plants.
Chicken
Sits on eggs to make them hatch faster.
Chicken Jockey
Chance to give crops the Zombified mutation, which gives a 25x value boost.
Cow
Speeds up crop growth from time to time.
Deer
Has a chance to let you harvest berry-type plants twice.
Disco Bee
Will occasionally convert crops to the Disco mutation.
Dog
Has a chance to dig up a seed every so often.
Dragonfly
Will give a fruit the Gold mutation from time to time.
Echo Frog
Croaks occasionally, increasing plant growth.
Giant Ant
Chance to get two fruits instead of one on harvest.
Golden Lab
Has a chance to dig up a seed every so often.
Grey Mouse
Boosts pet XP gain.
Hedgehog
Increases the size of prickly fruits. (Durians, cacti, pineapple, dragonfruits.)
Honey Bee
Pollinates random fruits in your garden, giving it the Pollinated Mutation.
Kiwi
Sits on eggs to make them hatch faster. (Average of 27 seconds each time the Kiwi activates.)
Mantis
Increases the chance of fruits getting a random mutation.
Mole
Occasionally, tunnels under the ground and digs up money or tools.
Monkey
Chance to return a sold fruit to your inventory.
Moon Cat
Takes naps in the garden, boosting the size and growth of crops within a radius around it while napping. Chance to let you harvest Moon-type fruits twice.
Moth
Will occasionally completely restore another pet’s Hunger bar.
Night Owl
Helps other pets gain XP much faster.
Orange Tabby
Takes naps in the garden, boosting the size and growth of crops within a radius around it while napping.
Panda
Eats bamboo in your garden, for over its sale value.
Pig
Boosts chances of crops getting a random mutation.
Polar Bear
Chance to give a crop the Frozen mutation.
Queen Bee
Pollinates random fruits in your garden, giving it the Pollinated Mutation. Resets one pet’s cooldown.
Raccoon
Chance to create a duplicate of another player’s fruit. (It won’t steal the fruit from the player, just make a copy.)
Red Fox
Chance to duplicate a seed from another player’s garden.
Red Giant Ant
Chance to get two fruits instead of one on harvest.
Rooster
Sits on eggs to make them hatch faster.
Sea Otter
Waters plants around it from time to time.
Silver Monkey
Chance to return a sold fruit to your inventory.
Snail
Harvested crops are more likely to drop Lucky Seeds.
Spotted Deer
Has a chance to let you harvest berry-type plants twice.
Squirrel
Chance to both plant a seed and keep it.
Tarantula Hawk
Pollinates crops, occasionally reduces the cooldown on other pet abilities.
Turtle
Increases the time sprinklers stay active.
Wasp
Pollinates crops, occasionally reduces the cooldown on other pet abilities.
