Despite being the most common Ore in the game, many players, myself included, seem stumped on how to get Stone Ore in The Forge. So, I’ve compiled a guide on the best ways to increase your odds and explain why you should bother with this lacklustre material.
Start playing The Forge via Roblox. Not that you’d find Stone on this list, but check out my guide on the best Multiplier Ores in The Forge.

How To Get Stone Ore in The Forge
Stone Ore drops from Pebbles around Stonewake Cross’s Cave system, typically found near the entrance. Despite being the most common Ore, players often struggle to find it due to their Pickaxes having enough Luck to offset the RNG, granting them rarer pulls such as Copper, Iron, Poopite, etc.
To get Stone Ore, I recommend re-investing in the worst Pickaxes in the game. Their lack of buffs, specifically Luck, means they don’t increase your odds of getting rarer Ores, making Stone retain its 1 in 1 drop chance.

Recommended Pickaxe
If you kept the beginner Pickaxe, you’re in luck! This weak tool is the worst in the game, meaning it’s the best option for finding Stone. I guess two wrongs do make a right.
- Stone Pickaxe (Beginners’ Tool)
- Mine Power: 4
- Mining Speed Buff: 0%
- Luck Boost: +0%
- Rune Slots: 0
- Cost: N/A
If you follow the Tutorial and sell your Stone Pickaxe, the next best option is the Bronze Pickaxe from Miner Fred’s shop. It has the same weak stats, aside from a slightly better Mine Power, meaning you can break Pebbles a little quicker and hopefully get your Stone.
- Bronze Pickaxe
- Mine Power: 7
- Mining Speed Buff: 0%
- Luck Boost: +0%
- Rune Slots: 0
- Cost: $150 from Miner Fred’s Pickaxe Shop
Frequently Asked Questions

Stone only drops from Pebbles found within a small section of the Stonewake’s Cross Caves. Since the game Tutorial helps you upgrade your Pickaxe early, most players end up having better Luck RNG, meaning they’re less likely to get a lacklustre 1 in 1 drop like Stone.
Aside from completing the Index for it and possibly using it in early-game weapons and armour, Stone appears in the repeatable Nord Questline, which is good for early-game Cash and EXP.
If a Pickaxe has an affinity for Luck, it subtly changes RNG odds when mining, allowing players access to rarer ores within deposits. Since you can’t get any less than 1 in 1, the game seems to ignore anything with this drop chance if you have a Pickaxe with any Luck Stat.
If you’re early-game, this Quest is great for getting some initial materials crossed off your index and some extra funds to afford a better pickaxe. As soon as you struggle to obtain Stone Ore (due to a good Pickaxe), this questline has become outgrown.
