In this guide, I’ve ranked every single one from S tier to D tier, to help you determine which one to use in combat. What’s more, I’ll update this guide whenever a new tower drops, so you always know which ones to use, and which to skip.
Tower Defense X does what it says on the tin. You have to defend your base from a series of units, who are striving to destroy you. You unlock towers, place them, and destroy all enemies. These arrive in a variety of different forms, from hero units, to vehicles, and even buildings. You can’t use all towers on all maps, so it’s worth taking that into account.

Now, let’s take a look at where each of the towers rank on our tier list.
S
The best towers in the game. Definitely use these in all situations.
- EDJ
- Juggernaut
- Laser Gunner
- Missile Launcher
A
Solid towers that won’t let you down, but lack the punch of S tiers. They also might not be available in all modes, limiting their use.
- Artillery
- Battleship
- Farm
- John
- Operator
- Patrol Boat
B
These towers are average. They are useful during the early game, but drop off the further you get in.
- Ranger
- Sniper
C
Towers in this tier can have niche uses, but are otherwise worth avoiding.
- Cryo Gunner
D
Don’t use these towers.
