What Happens When Thunder Hits Pets in Grow a Garden
In short, nothing happens, and you do not need to worry about your pets during the Thunder Event. The only thing that stops pets from working is if they go hungry or you log out.
This rumour began shortly after the pet update, where an image circulated the Grow a Garden community with a notice saying a player’s Dragonfly had been killed by thunder. It was a pretty convincing prank, but the DEVS themselves made it clear that pets cannot die to Thunder or any other means.
Why This Was A Shocking Rumour
Firstly, a lot of players have high-value pets to increase plot productivity. If something like a weather event could kill a Dragonfly, or any other pet, this would cause a mass panic. Dragonflies in Grow a Garden are extremely rare, with a 1% hatch chance from the expensive Bug Egg that costs 50,000,000$.
Every 5 minutes, this incredible pet mutates a random crop with the Gold mutation, increasing its value by x50!
With that, a lot of players who own Dragonflies often leave their garden afk whilst they do other things, such as go to work, school, or sleep, so that when they return, they have a plot full of golden fruits to harvest and profit from.
But, if your pets could perish in the meantime, this would change the Grow a Garden economy, and players would have to find new ways to make a money farm. Luckily, none of that matters, and your pets won’t die…
