Yu-Gi-Oh! Cross Duel Art

If you’re getting started with the latest Yu-Gi-Oh! game, then understanding the Yu-Gi-Oh! Cross Duel Ace Monster Tier List is a critical part of setting up your deck.

You get one chance to pick the right ‘Ace’ monster for your deck at the beginning of the game. And flying blind could mean that you pick a weak monster, or one that doesn’t fit the way you like to play.

We’ll take you through the Ace Monster tier list for Yu-Gi-Oh! Cross Duel, to help ensure that you pick the best monster for your deck.

What Is An Ace Monster?

Simply put, your Ace Monster is your strongest card at the outset, giving your deck a monster with particularly powerful stats. These cards can literally be a game changer when used at the right time.

Ace Monsters have a special ability known as a Master Skill, which can be extremely effective when deployed (for example, Blue-Eyes white Dragon can destroy any monster on the field of battle when summoned).

And because Cross Duel is something of a love letter to the history of Yu-Gi-Oh! they also happen to be signature cards from important characters from the series.

Here’s how the Ace Monsters stack up in Yu-Gi-Oh! Cross Duel.

Yu-Gi-Oh! Cross Duel Ace Monster Tier List

S Tier

  • Blue-Eyes White Dragon

A classic Ace Monster, Blue-Eyes White Dragon has one of the highest base attack points in the game. His Master Skill allows you to destroy any opponent on the board. This can be great to defend yourself against a powerful attack, or destroy a defender so your own attacker can deal damage.

  • Red-Dragon Archfiend

This dragon can destroy any defence-position monsters on the field when summoned, and at the end of your battle phase. This will include any of your own. But if you;re picking this dragon, defence probably isn’t part of your strategy.

  • Ojama King

This is perhaps a less instantly accessible card for new players. But Ojama King offers a range of control and disrupt options, which allow you to lock your opponent out of summoning for a turn, as well as closing off a monster zone on the field.

A Tier

  • Odd-Eyes Pendulum Dragon

Odd-Eyes is a great choice for anyone who likes Pendulum Decks. A Pendulum Summon will give all your monsters an extra 800 ATK and DEF, as well as making them immune to Skills and Trap Cards.

  • Elemental Hero Neos

Neos will return to your deck even after he is destroyed. You then have the option of using Speedy Summons to bring Neos back out, minus 1000 DEF and ATK. But if you stack Skills in the right way, this can become a very powerful card indeed.

  • Number 39: Utopia

Utopia gains an ATK buff every time it destroys an opponent’s Monster in battle. And with starting stats of 2500 ATK and 2000 DEF, it’s likely to destroy plenty.

It also has an ATK Debuff Skill that will make opponents lose 400 ATK before doing battle.

  • Seven Road Magician

This has the potential to be one of the strongest cars in Cross Duel, and all but untouchable. Use Inventor to draw a Skill at random. The more you use Inventor, the stronger this card gets, as it gains 400 in ATK and DEF each time a monster used Inventor.

And if summoned after activating four Inventor skills, it gains two extra Immunity skills at random. If you’re lucky, this could make Seven Road Magician almost invincible.

B Tier

  • Stardust Dragon

Stardust’s Master Skill is to give weak monsters (level three or lower) Reincarnation. This essentially means you have a horde of monsters ready to swarm the field of battle.

Furthermore, when Stardust is destroyed, it goes back into your deck, ready for a second round. It no longer has its skills to draw upon, but an ATK of 2500 makes it a powerful tool.

  • Firewall Dragon

Firewall Dragon is really at its best when you have the right card collection. It draws upon Link Monsters, so the more of these you have, the stronger it gets.

  • Dark Magician

Yami Yugi’s Ace Monster comes with 2500 ATK and 2100 DEF. More importantly though, activating a Spell Card will inflict 300 damage on all other players.

C Tier

  • Bloom Diva the Melodious Choir

Bloom Diva isn’t the most powerful, offering only 1000 ATK and 2000 DEF. But can be extremely useful as part of a more defensive strategy. If you use an effect to gain LP, all your monsters gain DEF equal to the LP gained.

  • Gaia the Fierce Knight

Gaia can grant all your Monsters superspeed, making it difficult for an opponent to react to your Monsters. When coupled with Wizardry, Monsters can gain 300 ATK and DEF whenever you use a Spell Card.

  • Trickstar Holly Angel

Blue Angel’s Monster offers 2000 ATK and absolutely nothing on DEF. But when Holly Angel is on the field, Snipe will deal damage to all opponent Monsters. Your Monster’s Snipe also inflicts 100 more damage. When summoned, it will inflict 200 damage to the Monster in the lane ahead.

This list covers these Monsters at their Base level. It’s important to remember that Cross Duel allows you to add skills to give any of your cards a boost.

These ones are also Ultra Rare, meaning they are very difficult to get form the Gacha system. So choosing the right one is important. Hopefully, this Yu-Gi-Oh! Cross Duel Ace Monster guide will help you choose the perfect Ace for your deck.
