All Gameloft games for Android released in 2012 will have in-app purchases. Also new titles heading our way.

This is a two-part article as it covers two different announcements from Gameloft. First, and this one is pretty much straight to the point, all Gameloft titles that are released throughout 2012 will contain in-app purchases.

Going a step further with that, apparently every game they will be releasing this year will be ‘heavily social’ and contain said in-app purchases. How this will play into some of their upcoming titles remains to be seen but this means there could be plenty more free games coming to the Android Market from Gameloft including the upcoming Men In Black 3 game which we spoke about the other day and is slated to be free-to-play.

This brings us to our next bit of news which is Gameloft has quite a few big name titles heading to all the platforms they support including Android phones and tablets. Some examples are The Dark Knight Rises, Ice Age, The Avengers, The Amazing Spider-Man, My Little Pony, and Littlest Pet Shop. How the free-to-play / in-game purchases will work out with some of these upcoming titles is not yet know nor is any sort of release time.

While we will benefit from more free Gameloft titles to play, some people really dislike the in-game purchases that are available, not just from Gameloft but from most companies. At least most of Gameloft’s titles are fairly balanced when it comes to this sort of thing with most purchases being pretty much optional and not mandatory.
