Amazon looks to take out Black Friday with Amazon Prime Day next week

Amazon has announced the first official Amazon Prime Day, which will be next week on July 15th, 2015. The company is literally trying to take out Black Friday in terms of just the sheer amount of savings that will be available on that day. In other words it will literally be like Christmas in July… as the saying goes. This means that if you’re in the market for a new Shield brand device, a new Android phone or tablet, this would be the day to to it if they go on sale, which is more than likely to happen.

Amazon’s Prime Day will have, according to the company, more deals and bigger discounts than Black Friday. July 15th, 2015 isn’t just a random date Amazon picked out of a hat either. This is actually the day before Amazon turns twenty years old. On this day Prime members “will find deals starting at midnight, with new deals starting as often as every ten minutes”. So yes, you will need to be an Amazon Prime member to take advantage of the sales on Prime Day.

While current member pay $99 per year to be a Prime member, non-member can still take advantage of these sales by signing up for the current Amazon Prime 30-day free trial currently being offered. Amazon Prime gives members all sorts of perks including free shipping as well as recently starting same-day shipping for orders by Prime members. They also receive unlimited instant video streaming, ad-free music streaming and stations, and other features.

When Amazon’s Prime Day starts next week, we will be keeping a running tab on all the Android related deals for people to check out.
