Angeldust crafting MMO released onto Google Play in early access form

Angeldust is a new quirky MMO out now for Android devices. Looking for a unique crafting MMO? Then Angeldust might be right up your alley. For starters, Angeldust has no quests or story line. It is a fully rendered 3d open world game with a cel shaded look akin to Borderlands. An interesting feature of the game is that it is playable across multiple platforms. Android phones, tablets and PC’s are all connected in this world. You could play on your phone, then log in with your PC and everything would be the same. Or you could be playing on your tablet while your friend was playing on a PC. It all works just fine. Once you create an account, you can go to the Angeldust website and customize your character.

Some basic options are available as soon as you log in, changing the colors of your skin and gear. There are also more color options available to unlock using gold which you aqurie in game. There are four classes you can choose from, fighter, builder, scout and sorceress. At the time of logging into the game, you can choose to play any one of these characters. You could start off as a sorceress, then maybe one day you want to be a fighter, it’s all up to you.

On a phone or tablet, you swipe on the right side to walk and swipe on the right side to look around. As mentioned before, there are no quests in Angeldust. When I first logged in I was kinda lost as what to do as there is no tutorial either. I had to look up a Youtube video in order to figure out what I was supposed to do. When first entering the game world, you are placed in what looks like a giant courtyard with a space designated as your home. There are also other players’ homes their too. Here is where you can build whatever you want, as long as it’s in your area.

From the courtyard area you can leave and go one of four ways, north, south, east and west. This will lead you to the open world where you can gather materials to build your structures. Once there, you can use your shovel ala Minecraft style to gather materials. Grass, dirt, trees, stones etc. Once you gather something new, it has been “discovered” and you will gain gold for finding it. Same goes for creatures, but you will get less gold for creatures you kill that you have already discovered. What’s cool about Angeldust’s crafting system is that once you discover an item, you have it forever. What I mean is you only have to discover or mine one of any item and you can use it to build indefinitely. So no gathering 100 blocks to build a wall, you just need one and you could build a whole castle if you wanted to. Makes building so much easier and more fun. Instead of wasting countless hours gathering materials, you can spend more time just building.

There is also a shop where you can spend the gold you earn in game on new materials if you are to lazy or can’t find them. Items bought from the store are forever also. Building is done just like Minecraft. Select an item from your inventory, and then you can place it one block at a time. From looking at just the store, there are a lot of materials to make practically anything you could dream of.

If crafting MMO’s is your thing, I would check out Angeldust. You can download it for free. You can check out the game’s trailer below.
