ASCISPACE – Guerra Subatômica has officially launched on Android. Made by a Brazilian indie game studio, it brings retro bullet-hell mechanics in a simple format. Keep reading to learn all about this new game.

What’s new in this one?

ASCISPACE – Guerra Subatômica is an arcade-style experience built through procedural programming and pure code. Guerra Subatômica is Portuguese, which means Subatomic War.

The developer MGappsCap describes the project as a tribute to a time when things were more creative. It’s a handmade, brain-melting shooter. Every time you discover one of the scattered memory fragments, the mystery of the universe begins to make a little more sense.

The game has procedural ASCII-based visuals. It means that the game’s graphics are made using ASCII characters (letters, numbers, and symbols) instead of traditional images.

Every element, from ships to explosions to environment details, is built entirely with ASCII characters, line by line. And that’s what gives it a retro, text-art look or in other words, an old-school arcade look.

How does it all start in ASCISPACE – Guerra Subatômica?

You begin in a bizarre miniature universe where the only objective is to escape by fighting. There are relentless waves of enemies, whom you have to fight by grabbing gadgets and upgrading ships.

The game offers a black hole feature that disrupts its pace by slowing down time. You can even create mini black holes to trap enemies and send them into another dimension.

NeutroBombs are another powerful tool, letting you wipe the screen when situations become completely overwhelming. And in the latest update, the devs have added an electricity weapon capable of stunning enemy bullets and new music tracks.

Check out ASCISPACE – Guerra Subatômica on the Google Play Store. It’s free to play with optional in-app purchases.
