Assassin’s Creed Pirates Gets Runner Update

Assassin’s Creed Pirates, a ship combat game inspired by the sailing in Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag, has been updated with a new”onshore” runner mechanic.

In layman’s terms, there is now runner areas where you run through 64 different Mayan temples, in the vein of Temple Run or other games of the same ilk. The runner levels themselves provide Mayan stones to collect, which are used to unlock map fragments that are used to unlock new areas where you can collect treasure. There are also 8 “epic rewards” to find. In total there are 24 new treasure chests.

The update will also be bringing new daily challenges, 50 to be specific. I haven’t played this game since last year (the Shield Portable I use does not support it) however the time I did spend playing it I had quite a bit of fun. Sure the ship combat is not nearly as deep as the combat in the main games, but it was still good fun.
