Ubisoft and Level Infinite Show Off Assassin’s Creed Codename Jade Gameplay

Assassin's Creed Codename Jade official artwork.

During yesterday’s Ubisoft Forward showcase, as part of the E3-replacing Summer Games Fest, Ubisoft and Level Infinite finally gave us a look at the upcoming Assassin’s Creed Codename Jade.

You can check out the trailer on YouTube.

What’s Assassin’s Creed Codename Jade?

For those unaware, this is a mobile-exclusive Assassin’s Creed. It aims to offer the full fat experience as you know and love it but on your phone.

And, if this trailer is anything to go by, we’re going to get just that. While it begins with your usual CGI guff (seriously, guys, no one wants these) the whole second half is dedicated to gameplay.

How’s the Gameplay Looking?

It begins with sweeping vistas, showing off its oriental setting. We’d be impressed if these settings were going on PS5 and Series X, let alone Android.

Then we see some actual gameplay. This includes bow and melee combat, classic wall-climbing action, and some really flashy weapon attack skills.

It’s just all very impressive stuff, and it’s very difficult to imagine it sitting comfortably on mobile. However, that’s exactly what’s going to happen.

Where is it Set?

Assassin’s Creed Codename Jade takes place in ancient China. We don’t know much about the plot at this point, but it takes place in the city of Xianyang, and sees you battling off Xionanu raiders.

You can expect historical locations to make an appearance, like the Great Wall of China. The Assassin’s Creed series loves a bit of history.

How Can I Learn More?

If you’d like to learn more, head on over to the official site. It’s a bit light on information at this point, but you can register to learn more as soon as new information drops.
